A Sticky Situation
One of the first decisions you should make is whether to purchase stainless steel cookware or nonstick cookware. There are advantages and disadvantages to each. Stainless steel kitchen cookware is more durable than nonstick kitchen cookware; however, if you decide to purchase stainless steel cookware you will have to deal with food, especially eggs, sticking to the pan. What a mess!
Nonstick cookware is great because food does not stick to the pan and it allows you to use less oil or butter in your cooking. The problem with nonstick cookware is that it is not as durable. The nonstick surface tends to rub off, which means that the pan needs to be replaced more often. Also, particles of the nonstick surface will sometimes get into your food. The type of cookware you choose should be the best fit for your life style.

There are many different types of materials that kitchen cookware can be made from. Copper is a popular choice; it is a good conductor of heat and looks very pretty. However, copper cookware is somewhat expensive and requires more upkeep than other cookware. Aluminum cookware is also commonly used. Aluminum is also a good conductor of heat and it is inexpensive, but aluminum cookware is not very durable and is easily scratched. Some choose to use steel cookware because of its durability and low upkeep. A disadvantage of steel cookware is its poor heat properties.
Cast iron cookware is great because it is very durable, but food easily sticks to the castiron pan. Ceramic cookware is easy to clean, but it is not very durable. Finally, glass cookware is pretty to look at, but it is not durable and has poor heat properties.
